  1. @ Alan Lubbard, I’m not critiquing the book, I’m criticising the blog posts that take an almost schadenfreude like pleasure in ‘enjoying the decline’ (as opposed to ‘enjoying life WHILE the decline happens’, which is something different all together).

    I wasn’t even aware that the phrase was based on a book until someone told me about it; that’s how uncited or disconnected the ‘enjoy the decline’ meme is from it’s original intention.
